When I double click on a fax to view it (in Windows Picture and Fax
Viewer), I cannot view it ("No Preview Available" appears).
I downloaded the Q322011 hotfix, but that did not solve the problem.
Please help!
Thank you!

There are many other causes for this problem. Most often, this problem
arises because some other imaging application that you installed has set
itself as the default viewer for TIF files. To view faxes from the Fax
Console, the Windows Imaging and Fax viewer must be your default viewer for
TIF files. You can easily restore that setting in Windows Explorer > Folder
Options. File Types. For most users the command line should read:

"rundll32.exe <drive>:\WINDOWS\system32\shimgvw.dll,ImageView_Fullscreen %1"

Another common cause of this problem is firewall software Trojan horse
rules. The most common is one that ships with Norton Internet Security.

Russ,

Thanks for your help. The Windows Imaging and Fax viewer has been my
default viewer, and I do not have Norton Internet Security on my
laptop. Any other suggestions as I am getting frustrated? I don't
have a problem sending or receiving faxes. I just can't view or even
print them (I tried to print hoping I can get an image, at least, but
to no avail).

Any add'l thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Those are the only fixes I've seen so far.
Were you ever able to view faxes? If so list the steps to recreate this
problem.

Are you able to see these faxes on the Fax console? If yes, what happens
when you double click on them?
If you are really keen on printing them somehow, u can find the associated
tiff files of the faxes at Application Data\Microsoft\Windows
NT\MSFax\Inbox. But the filenames here will be quite cryptic, so you will
have a hard time finding which fax you print. You might want to use the time
stamp.
