Windows XP Home. I cannot use my cd-rom drives. They won't accept any disks I put into them. I want to reinstall from my boot cds and start over but of course, my cd-roms won't work. Is there any way to get regular cd-rom drivers that might work so I can reinstall xp? Please Help. Thank you.

Go into hardware devices and uninstall the cd drives. re-boot and allow windows to "see"
them again. If that doesn't work, you'll need to go to the hardware manufacturer's website
and download the latest firmware and drivers for your CD ROM's/CD-RW

You can also check to see if the cables are bad (bent pin at connector) or you can check to
see if your master/slave settings are correct on your drives. The last possibilty is a bad IDE
connector on the motherboard.
