Cannot use Ad Hardware Wizard !!!

Hi,

I suffer everytime i need to add hardware to my pc, when i attempt to click
on "Ad Hardware" in the control panel, i get a message saying: Cannot run two
devices installation at a time. It's like if an installating is always
running but i'm not aware on any. I have tried checking the properties of
every hardware device i have but all of them workin gjust fine and i don't
have a single yelloe question mark.

Can anyone help?

What are you trying to add? Don't bother with the Add Hardware applet;
in all the years I've been running and supporting XP I don't think I've
ever used it. Just install your hardware and follow the hardware
mftr.'s installation instructions. If you want more help, post back
with what hardware you're trying to install.

The add hardware wizard is more for installing drivers that are included
with Windows XP. Then again, if the hardware is designed properly the
hardware is detected when you boot up and you will get a prompt to install
the drivers.

Add hardware wizard is really not utilized much at all.

Hi and thanks for the explanation.

I usually don't use it to install new hardwares but recently i was trying to
install Nokia phone software and it was automatically failed and i discovered
this probelm since i received this alert about "another hardware installation
is underway" and the problem is i forgot my phone and wanna know what is
going on and how i can sort this problem.
