Cannot upgrade from IE 5.0 to IE 6.0

Hi,
I m running windows 2000. It orignially had IE 5.0
Installed on it. I upgraded all the security pataches and
SP4 and all, and didn't upgrade to IE 6.0 thinking I can
update it later. Now when i try to upgrade to IE 6.0 it
won't go through all the way, the download starts and as
soon as that happens. I get the following error
message "Setup was unable to download the required
components. Please make sure you are connected to the
internet, or try to run setup again later."
I have verified my conection (DSL), and i know i m
connected, i can browse every site when i get this error
message. I have tried to uninstall IE, but no use, i have
tried to manually remove every file but no use. i m stuck
with IE 5.0, which is giving me problems on going to some
sites. Please advise how to get rid of this issue

IE 5.00.3700.1000
Cipher Strenght: 128-bit
Update Version;;SP4;Q828750

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I did try to upgrade again after making sure my firewall
is disabled, i still got the same message. The help site
doesn't talk about this particular issue. Also I m not a
computer genius so please guide me what is TIF folder?

Hei. Go in your windows explore >>> after go in this foler -
WINNT(open it) - go to Windows Update Setup Files folder >>> delete
This folder is safe to delete.txt >>> control panel >>
addremoveprograms >> go to addremovewindowscomponents >> uninstall
explorer 5 >> reboot >> later install new version of ie 6
 
TIF = Temporary Internet Files

Jone Doe... Sorry for take long time to answer.
Go to your C:\WINNT\Temp\Temporary Internet Files and delete the file
that I told you. file:delete.txt
After, install ie5.0 again and later install ie6.0 from
C:\WINNT\Temp\Temporary Internet Files or update from windows.
