B Bill Sanderson MVP May 1, 2006 #2 Does AutoUpdate work on this machine? Is it a home machine, or one on a corporate network? If you go to Windows Update, do an express scan, and accept all offered updates, do you get Windows Defender definitions?

G Guest May 1, 2006 #3 Hello mbrooke, In addition to what Bill mentioned See whether this "old" solution does the trick: Is your Internet Explorer or Outlook Express set to work off-line or on-line? Please check in the File menu of Internet Exporer or Outlook Express - the "Work off-line" option should nºt be checked. Do you have a software or hardware firewall that controls outbound connections? For the benefit of the community reading this post, please rate the pºsts. I hope this post is helpful.
