Help.

I cannot up date my NAV definition over the past 2 weeks.

I have update patch installed for my window xp recently. I am not sure if t
has anything to do with this. Is there a firewall in this patch? I don';t
knoweither.

I also cannot get into NAV page that used to display downloading site for
lastest copy of Virus definitions. When those that can get displayed, the
downloading part is impossible/disabled?

I also cannot get into trend's micro page etc.

What's wrong?

Thanks

See if one of these will work.

you found.

Here is a direct download link to the virus defs on May 11th 2004:

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/download/us-files/20040511-009-i32.exe

If you got the sasser virus, and you now cannot access any antivirus web
pages, its because its created a hosts file.
Try pressing the start button, selecting run, and type ping www.norton.com
It will ping 127.0.0.1
You need to find the hosts file, on windows xp i believe its
c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc. There will be a hosts.sam, and just a
hosts. Open it up, notice all the antivirus pages listed in it, and set to
point to 127.0.0.1 Delete all these entries and save the file(make sure not
to save it with an extension).
Bam, problem solved
