Hi,

Currently we are having trouble with some of our machines
that have MS antispyware installed but the versions have
expired, I have downloaded the new version from the MS
website but when the new version is installed (even after
un-installing the previous version) it still tells me that
the version expired on the 31st of July.

Please help

Ryan

not quite sure i follow your question, I downloaded the
file from microsoft and installed as normal.

I see a previous question about this and he was told to
adjust his date/time setting, i hvae checked these and they
are correct yet still the app will not launchh.

This is happening on about 20+ PC's/laptops here.

Thanks for the response

Are you trying to push the install over the Enterprise or doing sneaker net?

You need to check the long and short date formats--set them to the
default--topmost setting in the drop-down box, in addition to being sure
that the actual information, date & time, is correct.

If you are not in a US English locale, reset to that locale and test.

no we are doing the updqate on each individual computer,
also the dates & language settings are all as they should be

hi,

my settings are as below and the problem is still occuring.

please respond asap.

Thanks

Do I understand correctly that you are having the same issue on 20 machines
or so?

What's in common about these machines?

We've always been able to tie this problem down to locale and date and time
settings except for a few cases of non-english Windows versions early on in
the beta.

I've seen one report today where this issue was temporary, and the user
thought it might have related to a particular graphics driver in use at the
time.

Have you tested setting the language to English (United States)?
These are the formats for dates in that locale, by default:

Short date format M/d/yyyy
Date seperator /
Long date format dddd.MMMM dd,yyyy

These machines are all on the same network, some with XP,
some with Win2k, I have been downloading the file from
microsoft.com, setting are correct as described, still get
error msg when first running the program that the version
has expired on the 31st of July, have re-downloaded many times.

Please help as this is becomming quite frustrating

Please uninstall the MSAS, delete Temp and Temporary Internet Folders
content, delete MSAS folder in Program Files and once again install the
newest 1.0.615 version of MSAS. Then perform the update of the definition
files.

OK. Can you verify, perhaps by installing to a machine outside this work
network--that the download you have is, in fact, version 1.0.613 or higher
(preferably .615!)

Can you tell us what Locale is set on these machines?

It seems to me that the two probable issues here are either that you have an
old download file--perhaps because of some cache--or that all these machines
share some date format setting which because of a bug in the beta product
triggers the expiration message.

Of these two, I have to say that the first seems more likely to me--it might
be useful to pull in the download via a different ISP completely and try
that binary on one of these machines.
