Having lots of problems with USB ports. They refuse to work. Want to try to
uninstall them in safe mode, then re-boot to see if XP (pro, SP2) will
install them correctly. This was suggested in a posting about a year ago by
MowGreen.
When I go to "My Computer" and right click manage, then select device
manager, I can expand the icon by USB ports. I thought the way to uninstall
everything was to (one by one) right click each entry, then select
"uninstall". That is what I tried. The computer just hangs when I do that.
In safe mode, in safe mode with networking, in normal mode also. When that
happens it takes forever to get out of computer management, also takes way
too long to re-boot.
What is to be done?
Thanks in advance
