My system was acting a bit erratic so I looked for programs I don't need and
Removed MS Silverlight, without any problem.
The system didn't get better so I did a System Restore to an earlier point.
It now seems much stabler. Of course Silverlight is now still installed.
But when I now try to remove it, I get the message "This patch package could
not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access
it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows
Installer patch package." So somehow the System Restore didn't quite
overcome the effect of the Remove that preceded it.
There is still a Silverlight folder in the Program Files folder. Can I just
delete that folder, including its contents? Or is that likely to damage
something else?
Windows XP, SP3.
