Cannot start Microsoft Outlook

When a user tries to start Outlook 2002 they get this
error:

Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. The attempt to log on to
the Microsoft Exchange Server computer has failed


-We are using exchange 2000.
-OWA does work for this user.
-this just started happening and only affects this person.
 
Can you ping the Exchange server, by name, from the affected user's
workstation? Have you tried creating a new profile for the user pointing at
the same Exchange mailbox?
