Cannot start IE

When I launch IE, I get the following message,

Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a
problem ...needs to close

The error message points to Modname - syssd.dll. If I do
a search on my hard drive, I cannot find this file. I
therefor cannot delete or rename it. Any ideas?
 
Can you copy the sysd.dll from another to replace it ?
If it does not work, can you reapply IE 6.0?

I cannot find the file on any Win2000 machine, or

anywhere else on the Microsoft Site or the Net.
 
i have also been having this problem. I downloaded the
latest version of IE6 from microsoft and tried
reinstalling it. this did not solve the problem. any
other suggestions?
