Cannot send Windows Mail Error code 0x800CCC79

SOS

Cannot send e-mail. Keep getting error code 0x800CCC79. Tried changing the
port from 25 to 587 but received the same error. Checked that authentication
is required. Still a problem. HELP!
 
That's not the complete error message.
Right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.
The error number by itself is not very helpful.

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject 'NAPO
Mtg.', Account: 'incoming.verizon.net', Server: 'outgoing.verizon.net',
Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.1.1 unknown or illegal alias:
(e-mail address removed)', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550,
Error Number: 0x800CCC79
 
Does this error only happen with that one specific recipient?
I tested that recipient's email address ([email protected])
and it does not exist.
