Cannot send/receive anymore

Windows XP, Outlook 2002
I can retrieve messages at the server, comcast.net, but I
can't get them routed to my computer for several days now.
When I click the send/receive button, nothing happens at
all - no indication that the system is trying to access
the server. When I try to send, the message is stuck in
the outbox. I can get the message to send, but only if I
go to Tools\ Send/Receive\ Send All. Nothing I try
allows me to receive messages anymore. My incoming and
outgoing mail settings are correct and have not changed.
I disable Norton email protection with no luck. Up until
a few days ago there was no problem, I can't figure out
what changed.
 
I tried, and I followed all the instructions as given,
but I cannot find the OPMLog.log file. I did a thorough
search of the hard drives and it doesn't seem to be there.
I did find that I can now send/receive messages by
clicking on Tools\Send/Receive\ and then clicking on my
default email account (mail.comcast.net).
When I do that a send/receive operation is performed.
When I just click on the send/receive button in my
toolbar, nothing happens.

If you are able to access the messages using your browser, you may need to
take this up with Comcast - the logs indicate that the server is telling
Outlook that there are no messages in your mailbox.

I went to Comcast before and they referred me Microsoft.
I can go back to them again, but the thing is ..I can't
send messages either. When I hit the send/receive, my
messages go to the outbox and stay there - they don't
send until I use the work around solution I mentioned
before. Since they don't send then it seems to me that
it wouldn't a server problem.

I tried, and I followed all the instructions as given,
but I cannot find the OPMLog.log file. I did a thorough
search of the hard drives and it doesn't seem to be there.
I did find that I can now send/receive messages by
clicking on Tools\Send/Receive\ and then clicking

When I do that a send/receive operation is performed.
When I just click on the send/receive button in my

I can retrieve messages at the server, comcast.net,
but I
can't get them routed to my computer for several days
now.
When I click the send/receive button, nothing happens

all - no indication that the system is trying to access
the server. When I try to send, the message is stuck

Could you post the logfile (as an attachment, if your newsreader allows
that) after trying to send a message? Also, is the logfile you posted below
from a time that you know there were messages on the server? If so, your
receiving issues are definitely a Comcast problem, because the log clearly
shows the server saying there are no messages available for download.

If you are able to access the messages using your browser, you may need to
take this up with Comcast - the logs indicate that the server is telling
Outlook that there are no messages in your mailbox.
