I have a distribution list that I created a while ago, and used to work. Now when I try to send mail to this list I get the following error:
cannot perform the requested operation. The command selected is not valid for this recipient. Could not complete the operation. One or more parameter values are not valid
I also get that message if I try to expand the list in the message to see who is in it. Basically I can't use this list. It's kind of long so I'd rather not have to re-create it.

DL's are forever getting corrupted. I know of now way to repair them.
Do you back up your data?

Well depending on where this DL resided, you can always replace it with a
backup.

I back up my exchange information store, but not the mailbox themselves.
