Hello:
In Outlook 2002, I have one email account with a basic
POP3/SMTP server. I have never had any problems until
recently. Last week, I moved from the USA to England, and
I am now connecting to the internet through a university
network. Now, I can receive messages on this email
account, but I cannot send messages.
If I put a message in the Outbox and try to Send/Receive,
it says "Send/Receive Error - click here" in the lower
right-hand corner. The ensuing dialog box says
" Task 'mail.powerscore.com - Sending and Receiving'
reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The connection to the
server was interrupted. If this problem continues,
contact your server administrator or Internet Service
Provider (ISP). "
I have confirmed that there is no problem with my mail
server.
When I do Test Account Settings, all the tasks work
except "Send test e-mail message." The error message
says "The specified server was found, but there was no
response from the server. Please verify that the port
and SSL information is correct."
Presently I do not have any special settings checked (no
secure connection, no authentication, etc.)
I have Norton Anti-Virus, and I tried turning off the
outgoing mail scan, but that didn't help the problem. In
the past, Norton always scanned my outgoing mail in
Outlook and it worked fine.
Also, I installed McAfee VirusScan last week (it was a
precondition for connecting to the university network) but
I then uninstalled it, since I already had Norton.
Please help!
Thank you,
