Dear helping users,

I am experiencing some problems with Windows Mail (Vista), with a
yahoo address. I have no problems to receive the messages, but cannot send
anything. I get the following error message:

Subject 'Bog', Account: 'Abel Yahoo!', Server: 'smtp.mail.yahoo.fr',
Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '250 8BITMIME', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes,
Server Error: 250, Error Number: 0x800CCC7D

I have tried to find answer on other websites, i tried to change the
port numbers, i desactivated the outbox scanning in Norton but it still
doesn't work. Windows Mail seems nice to use... if only it could work :o)

Best regards, Abel

Thanks Shwan. Luckily at the last second i finally decided not to subscribe
to Norton AV yesterday :o)

One last question if i may. If I delete my old windows mail account, will I
have to export the emails present in my current box, if i still want to
access them? (not sure if "export" is the right term - but that's the idea...)

Will uninstall Norton now and install Avast as suggested. Abel

Thanks a lot Gary, after two days of struggle you found the solution to my
problem. I had tried some other ports but it seems to be working both ways
(inbox and outbox) only with the ones indicated in your post.

If you pass by Geneva, you can claim a free beer :o) Best, Abel

Glad to help, Abel.

Wanna make a deal?

You can collect my free beers in the USA and Canada
and I'll have yours in Europe?

ps. As things stand you'll still be able to drive! ;-(

Depends on what you mean by "delete my old windows mail account". If you
want to delete an account through Tools | Accounts, it won't delete any
messages.
