My email worked just fine until about a week ago. I don't know what happened
but I can not send emails. I can receive - but what I try to send sits in my
Outbox.
I called my internet server and the information set up in my system looks
correct. They didn't know why my email wasn't going out.
Someone I work with suggested that I should restore my computer to a date
before this problem started.
I don't know much about computers. I can run a program with some
instruction - but forget the computer lingo because I am lost!
Any suggestions - in "lay-man's" terms about what to do ????

Try the restore.

1. Control Panel
2. Backup and Restore
3. Restore Windows using System Restore

note. You shouldn't lose any data

I have the same problem and tried system restore without any change. All
settings appear to be correct, just that it stopped sending emails on the 22
of april. I can delete them out of my outbox save 1 message that brings up an
error message of "Message could not be displayed, windows mail encountered an
unexpected problem while displaying this message. Check your computer for low
memory or low disc space and try again." This computer is only a month old,
has loads of memory (2GB ram) and tons of disc space! So what's up GATES???

I have same problem, quit sending email on or about 24 April. Did you find a
fix to this problem?

Geezz, looks like we all have the same problem. It started on 4/24th for me.
I can recv but anything I send sits in the outbox. The error code I get is
0x8004210B, ..timed out, no response from server... I've spent hours and
hours on the phone with my ISP - all looks right....they can't figure it out.
They think it's a glitch in the Window software. So, what do we do?

I tried to restore to prior to the 24th and it did not help. I also have an
email in the outbox that I cannot delete. Do you have any of these?

well, I managed to download this software you suggest, but now I can't figure
out where it's located. I don't know how to create the button you mentioned
to activate it. I did find a system restore option and performed it but it
didn't help with clearing out the out box. I haven't tried to delete the
msgs. I do that next.

Try again.
Take the "save" rather than "run" option.
Note the folder in which the download has selected.
Initiate the download. (should only take a few seconds)
Then in the selected folder find wmutil.zip and double click it.
You will then find wmutil (type=application)
Double click to run.

nb. Do not forget that function you want isn't available
while WinMail is running so open Taskmgr to ensure
no Winmail process is running.

note. Taskmagr is accessed...
Start/All Programs/Accessories/Run...
type in Taskmgr, hit enter
Select Applications, find Windows Mail, right click, select end task
Select processes, find Winmail.exe, right click, select end process

The run Wmutil as described above.

There are two files in the zip file. They need to be extracted to a
directory (the Desktop will work) and then run the exe.

That's what I meant... honest guv!

I just expanded on that as it wasn't clear to some people. I also just
updated the website to clarify that.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
I couldn't tell if the program was done running or not - didn't seem to be
anything that indicated it had completed it's run - but - I closed and opened
email and tried to send an email and LO AND BEHOLD! It actually transmitted.
I am so very grateful for your help!
