I have 2 seperate email accounts. One works fine, but I cannot send email
from the other (I can receive email at that address) . Each time I try to
send, I get a pop up box from Windows Security stating that I must log on on
to my mail server by entering my user name and password, which I do. It is
still not happy, and will not send the email from this account.

It is likely that the malfunctioning account has had its
password storage corrupted by your antivirus program.
Read http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3
Then uninstall your antivirus program, reboot, and try Windows Mail
again. If it still won't save the password, create a new email account
with the same settings as the malfunctioning account, then delete the
old account. Restart Windows Mail, and it should work now.
After you get your email working again, you will need to install
a non-intrusive antivirus program such as the free AVG or Avast.
Whichever antivirus program you use, be sure to NOT enable its
email scanning option.

Thanks Gary, As a matter of fact, I AM using the free AVG anitvirus, but I'll
try this and let you know if it works.

When you installed AVG, did you choose the Custom install
which enables you to deselect the email scanning module?

Gary VanderMolen

Probably not, as I usually choose the "recommended" installation. But I'm not
having any problem with my other email adress. when I reinstall, I'll try
that. Creating the new email account did not work.
