Greetings. Recently my computer has been unable to send email from
either Outlook 2000 or Mozilla Thunderbird. I am, without any warning
at all, unable to receive video and audio feeds (from mlb.com) on
Mozilla Firefox. I had hoped not to use MS's crappy IE, but it has
taken over the feed reception. Each time I load IE it makes some
change in my registry, as reported by Adwatch, which it has not done
before the past week. Finally, when I had been reading the news, or
other lists, once chosen, the read line would dim so it appeared
differently from unread articles.
I am able to receive email on both programs, get onto the net and
manipulate it, so I assume the modem (cable) is functioning. I have
checked, and quintruple checked my settings and they are all accurate
and current. I have disabled and enabled my anti-virus software. I
have no firewall that doesn't come with XP. And just now, after
installing several MS updates to XP Pro SP1, I cannot even load OL
2000 to see if my profile there is damaged-which I checked yesterday
and was accurate.
Is there something I have overlooked? Is there a fix for this?
My thanks to any and all who are able to assist.
