Hi,

hope somebody can shed some light on this : I have a
situation here with a delegate that manages the calendar
of a director. She wants to delete 1 occurence of a
recurrent meeting, when she does, she gets the choice to
send a cancellation message or not, so far so good.
However when she chooses to send a cancellation message &
clicks send, she gets an error message "You do not have
permissions to send on behalf of the specified user".
This is strange because she has owner permissions on the
director's calendar. She has to cancel on sending the
update & then the occurence gets deleted in the director's
calendar but NOT in the attendee's calendar !!

Does anybody have any clue what is causing this
behaviour ??

Tnx in advance,

Peter

Is this a meeting that the director made or was it just one
that he was invited to?

Your delegate also needs to have permission to send email
on behalf of the director. In Active Directory, click on
the director's account name, click on tab "Exchange
General" then click on button "Delivery Options" and add
the delegate's name to aloow permission to send emails on
behalf of director.

The down side is that in the future, the delegate will
have an option to send email from herself or the
director, on her own session of Outlook.

An alternative method will be for her to enter the
meeting into the system, then she can cancel it on her
own desk at any time.

Your choice. It is a nice but complicated system.
Overdesigned in the wrong places, unfortunately.

The delegate may only cancel meetings that the manager owns. If her manager
doesn't own the meeting, she should be able to delete the meeting from the
manager's calendar, but not send cancellations.
