cannot search info on search engines

Every time I try to search on MSN.com or yahoo.com, it
leads me to a page with "HTTP-404 File not found". I have
searched my computer for viruses, and updated the O/S and
security updates. This problem is still happening. Can
anyone help me?
 
I had this (and am now again having internet problems)--but
originally the problem I had turned out to be the Qhosts
virus. You might want to be sure that's not what you have,
even though you say it's not a virus.

The first thing to do is to scan your system for the possibility of
unknown\unwanted spyware or parasites that may be causing your problem(s).
