I've tried to save my photo story 3 file of 20Mb in size and it doesn't allow
it.
I get the message "there is not enough memory or disk space to compete this
operation..". It also goes onto say to un-install photo story 3 and Windows
Media 10 because the programs may be corrupted. I've uninstalled both
programs and re-installed them again and it happened again.
As for not having enough disk space, i have over 150 Gig of space on my hard
drive.
I have done a disk clean-up and a disk deframenter also.
What I have done to troubleshoot though was to shorten my file to about 10mb
in size and .. it worked!
But this is not acceptable as the maximum size allowed is way above this. I
also dont use that many pictures either but i have used some photo software
effects to alter the look of them. If anyone can help that will be greatly
appreciated thank-you.

Just some ideas....

I know you ran DiskCleanup...but try deleting
your Temporary Internet Files...have a look at
the following articles:

(260897) How to Delete the Contents of the
Temporary Internet Files Folder
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=260897

(301057) Temporary Internet Files Use More
Disk Space Than Specified
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=301057

Maybe adding more RAM or increasing
the size of your paging file would help.

(308417) HOW TO: Set Performance Options
in Windows XP

Also...before opening PhotoStory...close
all programs...especially virus scanners.

thanks for repling john...
I tried doing all of the above but the same thing happens. I do have 1Gig of
RAM. But like I said, the file is only 20 MEGS in size. When i halve the file
it works so it seems like a size issue but why it is I cant answer that. If
anyone has experienced this please come forward, as Microsoft does not help
customers with "free" downloads.

I'm no expert on this issue and you may
find some help at the following sites:

Beginner's Guide to Photo Story

Windows Movie Maker 2 - Photo Story 3
www.papajohn.org

But if you can save a smaller file...I would
still suspect that you are dealing with a
resource issue. I'm thinking the completed
file may only be 20 MB but the combined
memory size of all the components would
be far greater than that.

I've allocated as much RAM needed for paging files as it says its running
at 1535 at the moment and i do have plenty of room on my hard disk (over
170GIG). I tried experimenting with the paging file size by increasing and
decreasing but still the problem exists. What to do i ask anyone who can
help?
