I cannot save changes made to a document that I have
stored on a CD-RW disk. I have tried turning off
the "read-only" attribute associated with Word files, but
it doesn't work. I cannot save any changes made to any
types of files.

How do you erase these files if they are set as "read
only"? I am unable to erase them from a CD-RW?? Any
suggestions appreciated.

I am experiencing same problem but also cannot delete
these read only files from a CD-RW, which doesn't make any
sense to me. Have you had any luck erasing???

If you are using CD packet writing method of accessing the CD-RW disk, then
it should work correct. Packet-writing is not directly supported by the
standard XP CD writing system. You would need Roxio's DirectCD/Drag to Disk
or Nero's INCD. This will let you use the CD-RW media like a big floppy
disk.

If you are using the standard XP CD writing system, then you will need to
copy all the files off the CD-RW media, apply all the changes to the files,
erase the CD-RW media and re-burn the updated files back onto the media.
