When I try to save from a CD, a family member's picture - 3 x 4 300 dpi .jpg -
a message states cannot find the - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mshtml.hlp file.

I am running the Windows XP Home Edition and MS Office 2003 Pro.
My CD is the PleXwriter 40/12/40A.

Where can I download the - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mshtml.hlp file?

I need this picture to frame for a gift to another family picture.
This picture is not a copy protected picture from a professional photographer.

Your prompt help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You,

Hi,

Right click on the jpg file and select copy then paste it to a folder of
your choosing on the HDD, I don't have the mshtml.hlp file on my system..

May be a MS bug, see link..
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/190250

From looking around the web, (see link below) your not the first to be
affected..
http://www.google.com/search?q=mshtml.hlp

The only quick solution might be to uninstall IE7, type appwiz.cpl in the
run box, check show updates, in the list find IE7 and remove it, restart the
computer, any change..?

Your call, good luck..
Cheers

Thank You,

Apparently the mshtml.hlp does not exist, I searched my system as well as
googled it.

One poster in another forum claims uninstalling IE7 fixed that error for
him, do you have IE7?

Can you drag and drop the pic. instead of using the save funtion?
Good Luck

Thank You, Jaymon,

Your first suggestion . . .
Right clicking and copying the pic to another folder would not work.
It would not allow me to copy and paste in another location.

The file - mshtml.hlp - file does not exist. It is an IE7 problem.

Your second suggestion . . .
Un-install IE7 was the solution to the problem.
After I un-installed IE7, and restarted my computer,
I could save my pics from E-mails and CD's just like
before I installed IE7 about a week ago.

Thank You for taking time to offer a solution to a major problem
since I was on a deadline to get a project completed.
Thank You for your willingness to help others.

Yes, I am running IE7.
I installed it a little over a week ago.
And thinking back, that is when the problem began.

In my opinion, WIE7 is a POS and causes lots of problems for many people.

I haven't tried IE7 yet but from I've read I think I'll skip it!
It makes no sense to mess with a perfectly running machine just to have the
lastest and greatest.

I have tried it, Mike. I was visiting my Uncle and IE7 was on his machine.
Every time I closed it it would crash and want to send and error report. I
uninstalled it and told my Uncle that he could download it again if he
wanted. He may have just had a bad download and a goofy install because of
that. I thought that the tabs were rinky dink.
