Everytime my computer boots up I get the following
message:

Checking file system on C:
The type of the file system is NTFS
Cannot open volume for direct access
Windows has finished checking the disk

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please email
replies. Thanks you tons!!

actually same ans as for a previous poster - w/this
caveat - ntfs file sys req's that - 'the disk be locked'
so that it - 'checkdisk/chkdsk.exe - not scandisk - must
start before windows xp runs - ie
so try this
run gui/graphic user interface/ver - in tools - ie
go start/right click - my computer/open/
go right click - local disk/properties/
go tools tab/
go 'error checking section'/click-'error chk now'/
click on - 'both options' - on dialog box/
ans 'yes' - to sched reboot/
reboot/turn off-then turn on/
note
this fr my resp to prev post - ie
"
that's - checkdisk/chkdsk.exe
scandisk - no longer incl/supported
and here's an mskb article on the prob/possible ans - ie

Chkdsk Runs Each Time That You Start Your Computer
The information in this article applies to:
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Microsoft Windows XP Professional

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=316506
"
and take it fr there

God Bless
