Cannot run programs in the "RUN" window

Varouj

Hello !

I'm using XP Pro.
I cannot run aprogram in the "run" window.
For example, if I try to run "msconfig", the screen of the program appears
just a few moments and disappears again.
The same things happens with "ALT+CONTR+DEL" !
According to my updated anti virus program, I do not have a virus.

Can anyone help please, or explain what is going on ?

TIA

This behavior can be caused by a virus. One of three:

W32.Spybot.Worm
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.spybot.worm.html

W32.Klez.Worm
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/[email protected]

W32.Yaha.Worm
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/[email protected]

If neither of the above applies:

Run this Free Online Virus Scan

Enable the Task Manager (Line 51 and 275)

Hello Kelly

Thank you very much for your response.

I tried the copies of Task Manager, Regedit and msconfig.
Copy of regedit works but the other two do not work.
According to eTrust EZ antivirus with the latest update, I do not have any
viruses.
Can another program be the culprit ? What kind of program does this ?

TIA

Hello,

I would like to thank you "Kelly" for all the help.
Yes, I had worms. Namely Agobot and Spybot.
I was able to get rid of "no pop.exe" only after stopping the restauration
points of Win XP and in
"sans echec" mode.
Thanks again and regards
