Cannot run program

Hi! I have two questions; I don't know if they're related or not.

I just downloaded the SP2 update but I'm still running (sort of, but I'll
get to that) version 2.0 not 2.1--is this an issue? I was fine with the
program before the update but I thought I should mention that I can't seem to
install 2.1

My real problem is that after installing the SP2 update, my WMM won't
work--at all. I open it up, but as soon as I try to click on something like
switching to a folder containing the clips I want, it freezes. When I go to
the task manager to end the program it show 100% CPU usage. WMM was working
fine before SP2. What I can I do so that can edit videos again?
