up and I decided to run defrag & optimizer and then do a
quick restore - I started my restore and it came back
Incomplete try another Restore point I tried several and
still the same thing - machine will not restore -> I
looked up on Microsoft site and found Article 283096 and
it states to try and do a undo last restore and then redo

in this case and I logged on to HP they say I have to
reload everything and loose all my installed programs

Dial a Tech - for 20 dollars to dial in and see if they
could resolve it and they dont' know what caused it and

Before you do all that....try turning restore off, rebooting and turning it
back on and create a new restore point.

Hi Mike,
I have exactly the same problem as you. I have an HP and
as of Saturday, I could'nt do a restore either. I even
went into safe mode to try. As I've seen advice, to turn
system restore off then on, I do NOT want to do this
because I will lose the restore point I want to create,
which is when I took some Windows Updates, that, as
usual, for me, give me problems, when I accept them. I
took Nivdia driver update and then started having issues
with msn messenger icons showing up wrong. I wanted to
restore my computer to remove windows updates, but can't
seem to do this. I'm going to watch for any other advice,
as for now, I don't want to turn system restore off & on
because
I think I will lose this one restore point of "system
checkpoint", before I installed 4 updates from the
windows update site.If I find something, I'll let you know

Hey it's Mike and I have to Thank You, the Turning the
Restore Function ON & OFF WORKED - like a charm - I am
now able to do restores again. TY TY TY
