cannot reply to earlier post (was cannot boot missing CP_1252.nls)

i tried replying the same thread, but i keep getting some web app error

as for the original problem, i do not have access to my registry. the operating does not boot. and the disk is NTFS.

You reported that the file
\WINNT\system32\CP_1252.nls
was missing or corrupt. I suspect the file name should be
\WINNT\system32\C_1252.nls

If so then you can do this:
- Expand the file on some other Win2000 PC
(expand e:\i386\c_1252.nl a:\c_1252.nls)
- Boot your machine with your Win2000 CD.
- Select Repair when prompted.
- Select Command Console.
- Enter the administrator password.
- Copy the missing file from a:\ to c:\winnt\system32
