After upgrading an application on my client's workstation, I had problems
with the normal.dot so i deleted it and usually word will recreate new
normal.dot. The problem I'm running into is this client has word templates
located on a network share and when the normal.dot was deleted it recreated
a new one on the network share. Here comes the fun part.... The user cannot
make changes to this network normal.dot because other users must be pointed
to this network casuing to lock this file. I tried repathing the file
locations to point to the local machine for its templates (both user and
workgroup templates) but it still points to the network for its normal.dot.
Is there a trick to getting this to point to the local machine for
normal.dot or maybe a registry edit.
Any help would be great.
Thanks
