Cannot remove program!!

I am trying to remove my original version of Ahead's Nero
Burning 5.5 in favor of the bundled software (also Nero
5.5) that came with my new Lite-on CD/RW burner. In the
Add/Remove program, I keep getting the message "The
feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other
removable disk that is not available" I am then prompted
to insert the Ahead Nero Burning CD and then click okay.
I have done that and then I get the message "The
path 'Please insert Ahead CD-ROM cannot be found. Verify
that you have access to this location and try again, or
try to find the installation package Nero 5.5/Burning .msi
in a folder which you can installthe product Nero 5.5". I
have done that also and then I finally get the
message "The installation source for this product is not
available. Please verify that the source exists and you
can access it". I cannot get past this and would like to
know how to correct this problem.

Place the disk in the CD-rom and use search to find the file. Note the pathway , and copy it down . When prompted, give this info to computer, but remember you may not find on the disk as revisions have happened between the original disk used and the present one which would not be considered as a upgrade like renaming a folder. The other way is to check the CD for the packing list which some software vendors place on their products to give you an idea what you are going to remove manually, but be careful with the dll.s as they might be used by other programs. Check also to see if the install program placed info in a bak. file for restoring on removal. That's the best I can come up with.
