hi

i have a windows xp sp2 machine. the problem is that just 2 days b4 i
observed that there is a tool bar that has attached into internet explorer
version6. i cannot remove it by any means even thru control panel whenever i
try it say reboot system and even after rebooting i cant get that thing out.
i get automatic prompts to download a paticular antivirus software to get rid
of that trojan virus.

can anybody explain to me what to do.

best regards
amit

Are you running Windows Defender? If not, please download it install, and
let it update, and then scan your machine.

hi bill!!!

i have already done that but still of no use. the thing is still there. it
did remove some other trojan but my original problem still remains. will
going into the program registry do anything. but i dont know how!!
the thing is that it repeatedly prompts me to download a particular
antivirus software to get rid of the virus.
i already have spybot , norton antivirus running on my system.

please help me.

best regards
amit

The next simple thing to try is restarting in safe mode--by pressing the F8
button before the first Windows screen appears--and scanning with both
Windows Defender and you rupdated Antivirus scanner. Do full scans with
both, in safe mode.
