When I use my mchsi.com mail I do not get an error but no mail is ever
received. I can send email and read it on another PC no problem. tried the
pop-server fix no help and tried the autotuning disable CMD but get needs
elevation and would not execute. Settings are identical to another PC with
WIN XP. Please help ????

You have the wrong port and authenticastion settings. Contact AOL for the
correct settings. Instructions for Outlook Express work for Windows Mail.

No problems AOL can be configured to both send and receive email using
Windows Mail (Vista) just follow these tips

Select Tools | E-mail Accounts... from the menu.
Make sure Add a new e-mail account is selected.
Click Next >.
Choose IMAP.
Click Next >.
Type your name under Your Name:.
Enter your AOL email address (your AOL screen name plus "@aol.com",
"(e-mail address removed)", for example) in the E-mail Address: field.
Make sure your AOL screen name is listed in the User Name: field.
Enter your AOL password under Password:.
Type "imap.aol.com" under Incoming mail server (IMAP):.
Type "smtp.aol.com" in the Outgoing mail server (SMTP): field.
Close down
In Outlook Express or Windows Mail, please go to Tools > Accounts and then
double-click on the account you have just created then view it's properties.
The "Properties" window should now be visible. Please click on the
"Advanced" tab.
Right next to the text "Outgoing Mail (SMTP)", you'll see the port number 25
typed in the box. Please change the number from 25 to 587 by typing it in the
box. Click the "Apply" button to save this change. Don't click the "OK"
button yet!
Now, go to the "Servers" tab. See where it says "My server requires
authentication"? Click on the box next to it so the box is checkmarked.
Note that the "Settings" button next to the "My server requires
authentication" box is now available to you (meaning, the box is not greyed
out). Please click on the "Settings" button to open a new small box called
"Outgoing Mail Server".
In the "Outgoing Mail Server" box, please select the radio button next to
the text "Log on using". Then, type in your AOL Account name and Password in
the spaces provided.
Please click "OK" until you're back to the Internet Accounts box you opened
when you started following these AOL-specific instructions (Step 2). Then,
click "Close" to return back to the main Outlook Express window.
Now, try sending an email.

It should work beautifully now - good luck

Sorry no help. still get error.
Account: 'imap.aol.com', Server: 'imap.aol.com', Protocol: POP3, Server
Response: '-ERR Cannot connect to POP server 64.12.94.21 (64.12.94.21:110),
connect error 10060', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90,
Error Number: 0x800CCC90

The error message shows you are still using the wrong protocol and wrong port!
