Cannot receive/send email.

For several weeks I have not been able to send or receive email.
I can send/receive to newsgroups.
I can download email messages from my ISP's server and can
sometimes reply to them from on the ISP's server.

Can someone suggest an answer to my problem.
Could it be a fire wall problem?

If you're using NIS, Yes. I believe they had a live update that screwed
up the firewall rules.

You can if you choose run the Automated Support Assistant first.

If you choose not to or if it does not fix the issue, then use the link to
"Restore the firewall rules".
