Cannot read one instance of this recurring appointment.

My calendar is being shared with others, but I tried to
open one event, I was told " Cannot read one instance of
this recurring appointment. Close any open appointments
and try again, or recreate the applointment."

Tried many times, and tried to delete, but I cannot.

I am using Outlook 2000.
