Ever since I upgraded to XP, I have found that I cannot
play many of my DVD's and CD's in the D drive. It says
that Windows cannot read from disk or the disk is not
formatted correctly. Does anyone else have this problem?

It probably has something to do with the fact that Roxio sucks. Roxio is the company that designed the software that Microsoft uses for it.

The problem is not with XP but rather your Media Player
and or your DVD-R. Look for any Driver Updates for your
DVD-R. With Media Player check for Player updates under
the "Help" on tool bar and under "Tools"
Select "Options" make sure your File Types are all
selected and Your Download Codecs Automatically is Checked

Did you run a "copyover" upgrade from me or 98. If so, you
could be running into software compatibility issues. When I
first upgraded I had to uninstall 2 or 3 applications first,
clean IEs cache, defrag from me/9x, then upgrade install.
I then reinstalled the software versions that were correct
for xp.

Even then, it wasn't a smooth transition, and I wound up
booting from the CD and reinstalling after about a week.

If you drive uses special drivers, make sure you have the
xp versions on hand. They may differ from the 9x/me versions
too.
