after installing MAS I can no longer reach some sites, just like
www.sitemeter.com
The sites are not on the blacklist of IE, I put for test www.sitemeter.com
on the trusted sites list in IE (security and privacy) and in Norton
Firewall, I removed all keys to Sitemter of the registry, but no succes..
From another pc on my network I can reach all sites.. so it´s not a problem
of the router setup..

Solution?

If you go to Tools, advanced tools, system explorers, and explore the hosts
file, do you see entries for these sites you can't reach?

thanks for the hint to look for the host files..
I installed Spybot Search & Destroy a couple of days ago and I found it
made a blacklist in a host file..
I removed S&D because I couldn´t edit that file..! Problem solved...

Hi, Saba!
Inside Spybot S&D you can set/reset HOSTS file 'read-only'
without removing a program
Look here:
Advanced Mode->Tools->IE Tweaks->
Lock Hosts file read-only as protection against hijackers.
By the way - SS&D doesn't add 'sitemeter' in HOSTS file;
It could be done by HOSTS downloaded from
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
or similar.
Comment about Bill's phrase:
'All such mechanisms are two-edged swords.'
EVERY program IS two-edged sword, especially if one
don't bother to read instructions, Help, HowTo-s etc.

Agreed--I don't particularly like using the hosts file in this manner, but
it can be effective and helpful. I'm not denigrating Spybot Search &
Destroy--it's among my favorite tools.
