Cannot quit IE6

I'm unable to exit out of explorer using X, File/close or
right click/close. Forced to CTR-ALT-DLT. Same thing on
IE5 sp2, though installing version 6 would fix but problem
remains.

Anyone know what's causing it and how to fix?

Use IE Eradicator to completely delete Internet Explorer.

Make sure you have downloaded the IE6 setup files first, but not loaded.
Backup your Favorites folder.

Norma,
There's a good possibility that this is being caused by a third-party
program (adware, spyware, parasite)

Download, install, *update* and run these two programs:
Ad-aware from http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
Spybot from http://security.kolla.de/ Remove items listed in red- others are
optional.

If unsuccessful with those programs, try CWShredder from
http://www.net-integration.net/tools/hijackthis.html

If not caused by malware, consider disabling (for diagnostic purposes)
legitimate programs running in the background which might be interacting
with IE- security, antivirus, etc. You may have to uninstall then reinstall
a program.
