cannot protect form with macro

i trying to insert a tick box into a table, but can't
protect the document. I think its due to the tick belong
to the "Control Toolbox" and consider a macro. Is there
anyway to insert a tick box and protect the document?

I seem one template before, not using macro but there are
tick boxes, dropdown list and could be protected. Anyone
have any idea how to do it? Thx

Which version of Word?

Have you tried using the checkbox from the FORMS toolbar?
