Cannot print remotely with wireless broadband router

Hi.

Here's the problem, I am unable to see the printers or
any of my shared drives for that matter from my wireless
laptop connection.

I have shared the current printer on the main computer
(share name HP_1). It is connected to LPT1. I have also
tried to create a new printer connection for the same
using a TCP/IP port (name - HPLaserJ). I can see the
main computer (workgroup assignment is fine); however,
none of the shared drives are visible for access.
I am able to successfully connect to the internet w/ the
router (Dlink wireless broadband).

What can I do to see/connect to the shared drives and
printer? Have I purchased the wrong kind of router for
this activity?

The company could not provide any assistance.

Any help from the newsgroup would be greatly appreciated.

If the Internet Connection Firewall is enabled, you will need to open the
sharing ports
