cannot print from notepad or word

Printer is installed correctly, prints from internet, e
mail and copies I have in my documents but doesnt print
documents that I type in word. Spoke to microsoft and
they say it is an operating system problem because it
doesnot print from notepad - text. Anyone have any
answers, thanks.

Have you gone to the web site of your printer and looked around for undated drivers
and/or read their support documents?

I did check the hp website and couldnt find any solution.
Is it possible that the firewall could do this. The
firewall on McAfee expired and now set up the firewall
that is in windows xp. thanks.
