XP system, SP1 installed (build 1018; yeah, a beta!) and all current security/critical updates thru 3/8/2004
Everything worked (Fax printing, print to file, etc) until some malware got on the system, then no printing
The only errors during print: MSword = cannot connect to printer; notepad = The handle is invalid. Note: print attempts were to FAX and Generic/Text print, print to file
So I installed Ad-aware 6.0 & Spyware Search & destroy; they detected a long list of stuff, including some trojans. Cleaned up everything, but still no joy in printer-land
Uninstalled -all- print drivers, FAX service, even the ruddy COM and LPT ports, cleaned the registry (per the groups suggestion), Ad-aware & Spybot & re-installed everything (no errors), and still no joy in Mudville
Spooler service is up, RPC is ducky
Event log shows nothing interesting
Are there RegKeys that could turn on verbose event logging for RPC, Spooler, UNIDRV.dll, UNIRES.dll, et al
Thanks in advance.

Did the sfc; no joy
Got the latest/greatest SP; no joy
Uninstalled -all- anit-viral/adware/spybot stuff, stripped system down to bare-bones, stock MSFT drivers for -all- the hardware; no joy
Still cannot print to file, FAX, anything
No errors in the Event veiwer
Is there no RegKey setting to turn on verbose logging so that I might get a better bead on this problem
Spooler and Fax services are up and running
What next, re-install of XP and re-apply all SP stuff again???
