C00D1197: Cannot play the file
Windows Media Player cannot play the file. If the file is on another
computer, verify that you are connected to the network. If you typed a path,
verify that it is correct. If the problem persists, the server might not be
available.

The Microsoft web site says this error is related to internet/lan
connections or your setup. I don't know what you mean about "plays
everything else".

Are you actually putting a CD in your new player and it won't play? What
have you done with the new player that does work? It sounds like you need
to review all your player and WMP setup instructions.

Here's the link to what THAT particular Error Code is supposed to be related
to, in case it helps:

Insert the CD uin the drive, open Windows Explorer and naviagte to the CD -
see what type(s) of files you have there - on an older Audio CD the files
should be .cda.
On newer CDs, as a mean to protect against copying, the .cda (or other
format) are hidden in whatever folders on the CD. You simply have to find
your audio files on the CD. Some would play only in Shockwave player, for
ex.
