All of a sudden.. two desktops cannot see each other. The two desktops can
see only the laptop.
Computers A, B, and C. B being the laptop.
A and C can ping B
But B, cannot ping A or C, nor can A ping C, or C to A.
All in the same workgroup. All firewalls shut off.

I am not sure if it is possible.. but can the installation of ACT on A cause
this problem?

I am thinking that an update was made on the two desktops and changed a
setting. I recall a registry change to a "zero" setting for a fix.. but this
may be for something else....

Any thoughts appreciated.

IP info for each machine? Any third party firewall/security installed?

IP addresses are 192.168.5.100 ,, 101,, 102
No third party security... just a plain virus scan... no firewall software.

What about subnet mask and gateway? Can you ping 127.0.0.1 on all machines?

Those three IP's should be able to reach each other unless:
- They are not physically connected (bad switch, bad cables, etc)
- You have the subnet mask and gateway messed up, but considering the IP's
you are using, it would be hard to break it that bad.
- There is firewall software someplace blocking ICMP (and other protocols)
- You have the connections wrong on your router (one PC in the WAN port
instead of all being in LAN ports)
