cannot paste between apps

I cannot now use the paste function from information in one cell to another,
or paste in the search function dialog base, when copying from 1 table to
another, and from one database to another with my mouse, or menu bar. It
doesnt work in different Excel workbooks, either - only the keyboard control
V. Why? What is the purpose of this? I seriously need to use my mouse to get
this to work.

Time to do a Restart; that might take care of it.
