PowerPoint2003 cannot open a valid .ppt file, which was
created using an older PPT program. This same file also
opened properly on a laptop with an older version of PPT.
I already downloaded the latest ppviewer but still the
same error. What else can I do? Thanks.

I think that your problem will be fixed with an update to Office 2003. Go
to Help > Microsoft Office Online and click on the link in the upper right
corner. It says "Check for Updates". The next screen will have a "Check
for Updates" link at the top center. Click on it. Then follow the dialog
to install recommended updates.

Then try opening your file again. Let us know if that doesn't fix it.

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,
