I am getting this error everytime that I try to open a
database and when trying to create a new one. I have run
the Find and Repair. I do not know what else to do.
Please help.

NOSPAM is not part of my true e-mail addy.

Search your system for the file "wrkgadm.exe" (this is the Workgroup
Administrator utility - in Access 2002, it can be found under the menu "Tools,
Security, Workgroup Administrator"). Run the utility and see what it shows to be
the current "Workgroup". If it shows nothing, you can try to "Join" the
"System.mdw" workgroup file on your computer (you may need to search for that
file, as well - it will be in a subdirectory under the "Windows" (or "Winnt") or
"c:\Program Files" directory). If you can't locate "system.mdw", or the
Workgroup Administrator utility shows that "system.mdw" *is* the default
workgroup (it may be damaged), try to find a backup copy to restore the file
from or try to "Create" a new workgroup.

Bruce,

My system.mdw is probably damaged, so I followed your
advice and created a new workgroup. You are a god...

THANK YOU!!!

I would say that if you had the information to create a new workgoup,
you are 1 in 100. Most people don't keep that information until after they
lost one. ;-)

It was likely just the default workgroup file that needed to be re-created.
