Cannot open template

I have difficulty applying a template for my
presentations because I always get an error message
saying Powerpoint can't read C:/Program Files/Microsoft
Office/Templates/1033/Reporting Progress or Status.pot.

Is the pot file actually there? Can you navigate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\1033\ and double click on the "Reporting Progress or Status.pot" to see if it will open?

If the file's actually there, choose File, Open and open it as you would a
normal PPT presentation (take note of the path to the file when you chose to
apply it as a template earlier).

Does the file open?
