When opening the Sent Items folder in Outlook 2007, I get the error message:
The messaging interface has returned an unknown erro. If the problem
persists, restart Outlook.
I have done this, as well as running the scanpst program, which doesn't seem
to fix the problem either. Any ideas? I can't find any solutions...

Have you tried opening Outlook with the /resetnavpane command?

Start > Run > outlook.exe /resetnavpane (note the space between outlook.exe
and /resetnavpane)

If you're running Vista the directions are Start > Start Search >
outlook.exe /resetnavpane

If Kathleen's suggestion doesn't pan out, try the /cleanviews command switch.

I tried both Kathleen's suggestion and your's and neither one worked. I did
find out something odd... If I close out the error message and do a search by
the user's Last Name in the Sent folder, the Sent Items will appear. If you
try scrolling down the list they'll disappear. I can, however delete the
messages and there was over 3000 messages in the Sent Items. There is one
message that won't delete and I suspect that it may have something to do with
the problem. It doesn't have an attachment. I just can't delete it.

Thanks,

Andrew

Not even if you hold Shift when deleting?

If thie were to happen to me, I'd start with a new PST, make it the default
PST, and move everything except the bad message from the old to the new,
finally closing the old PST and, after closing Outlook, deleting it.
