Hi Joe,
This is a generic error message from PowerPoint. Without knowing what
version of PowerPoint you are using and what version of PowerPoint that the
presentation was saved in it's difficult to answer your question directly.
If you are using PowerPoint 2003 (the latest version) AND the presentation
was previously saved from PowerPoint 97 or PowerPoitn 2000, you might be
running into an issue for which new Office 2003 critical update was just
released. The easiest way to get this Office 2003 update is to choose
"Check for Updates" from the "Help" menu menu in PowerPoint (Word or Excel).
You might also be running into a compatibility issue between a newer
version of PowerPoint and the version that you are using:
* Password protected (PPT 2002/2003) presentations will not open in
PowerPoint 2000 and earlier
* Presentations with permissions applied (PPT 2003) will not open in
PowerPoint 2002 and earlier
If, however, the presentation is actually damaged, there are a variety of
reasons why this might have happened between the time the presentation was
saved on the originating machine until it was received by your e-mail
client.
* The file might have been touched/modified by whatever means it was
transmitted/received so that it is no longer seen as valid (try to get
sender to send file again as a *.zip file)
* Might be a problem with the way your e-mail client is handling the
attachment (save attachment to Hard Drive and them open from that location
instead of trying to open it directly from the e-mail client.

(if it is actually damaged) including:
